The voice of Duke Nukem is now officiating weddings

Gamers who are planning to walk down the aisle may now rope in a familiar voice to perform their ceremony. Jon St. John, perhaps best known as the actor who helped bring Duke Nukem into lifetime, is ready for actions as an ordained minister who’s set to conduct his very first wedding this weekend. On top of that, he is pleased to perform the nuptials in personality. Hail to the ring, baby.

St. John is also prepared to join happy couples in matrimony as Big the Cat, a character that he participates in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes. It appears to be a fun way to get wed for fans, particularly when St. John peppers in some of those foul-mouthed Duke’s more colorful lines.

It’s also got me thinking about other video game characters acting as officiants. I would certainly rule out Mario, because that’d just be annoying. I probably would not need The Joker’s voice overseeing the large day either — though Mark Hamill performing the ceremony could be quite neat.
