The HoloLens 2 has Shipping started in some selected countries for customers who pre-ordered. Microsoft has added an expanded field of view and a more complex gesture control to simplify interaction with the user interface.
Starting with Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, the second version of the mixed-reality headset costs $ 3,500. In the past, the field of view was only 34 degrees and it has now been increased to 52 degrees. In terms of gesture control, users can pinch and drag objects and even invoke menus. This extends the range of gestures that can be added to applications.
While not a fully end-user product, HoloLens 2 is only suitable for business applications. For manufacturing and repair work, the headset is more advantageous.
There are three pricing options for the headset. The device can be purchased for $ 3,500, while the other two options include a Developer Edition with an additional monthly fee of $ 99 and a full subscription of $ 125 per month, supplied with the Dynamics 365 Remote Assist software.
With the Publication of HoloLens 2Microsoft does not stop supporting the original version. However, apps that use the new gesture-control features will not run.
