He wasn’t far from the headlines of late, but Prince Harry will be hoping for more positive news when he makes his first public appearance.

The Duke of Sussex returned to his royal duties on Thursday (January 16) after he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step down as high-ranking royals, which ended on Monday with skimpy talks with the Queen.

Harry was at Buckingham Palace, where he hosted the 2021 Rugby League World Cup draw.

When he arrived, the 35-year-old smiled with lots of media to greet him and joked when he joined LW2021 chief Jon Dutton and non-executive director Stuart Cain and watched children from a local school at a rugby demonstration.

The Duke also took the time to chat with the children of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic elementary school in Westminster during a break in their exhibition game.

While posing for photos with the teenagers, it was inevitable that the reporters present would ask about his bombing decision.

But the prince ignored the “How are the discussions going in your future?” and went on joking and chatting with members of his surroundings.
