How we all know Philadelphia has a history of breeding great copywriters. The city of brotherly love could also be able to produce star Thespians.

Billboard reports this Meek Mill shows promising as a supporting actor. The rapper “Going Bad” has joined the cast of Charm City Kings. This project revolves around Baltimore’s popular bicycle scene and makes Rihmeek an ideal candidate for this role. On Wednesday January 15th, a trailer was shared with the public, making it clear that the MC is not a fool when it comes to acting.

In the one-minute clip, Mouse (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) takes us through the day and every day closer to the dirt bike culture while he leads a life in riding. Not only does he face the rejection of his family, he also has to deal with the police and rivals on the street. Meek plays Blax, an older character in Mouse’s life who tries to keep him out of the danger zone.

According to the article, the film is based on the cult classic 12 O’Clock Boys, which followed the life of the then 13-year-old pug who wanted to join the dirt bike crew 12 O’Clock Boys. The project was shot over a three-year period and also highlighted the social problems in the city of Baltimore.

Charm City Kings will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday, January 27th. It will officially open in select cities on April 10 and be released in the rest of the country on April 17. It is produced by Will and Jada Smith.
