EVE Online is something absolutely extraordinary when it comes to multiplayer gaming. The game has an international community that has essentially created its own culture, economy and politics, all within the limits of a sci-fi space sim. Whatever you want to do in EVE Online, whether it’s mining, piracy, PVE or PVP, EVE Online offers the freedom to do it as long as you have the drive.
We recently caught up with Kevin Design’s CCP Games Director of Game Design to talk about what’s going on in EVE Online’s ongoing design and what it’s like to work on a game of this size. You can view the entire interview below.
If you’ve ever wondered about the efforts that the universe of EVE Online makes and keep its fans happy, Millard wants to answer. From the big differences between EVE Online and other MMO titles to the control that the community has over EVE’s ongoing story and economy, there are a lot of interesting topics to talk about in this game. It was worth noting that we caught up with Millard on his way to the EVE Vegas event, one of the biggest meetings of the EVE community all year round.
Because Millard was undoubtedly mainly in Millard’s mind, he took the opportunity to talk about what it was like to be for the players and to contact them directly. Millard also addressed CCP’s efforts to change the way news and updates are brought to the community. It is part of an initiative to strengthen the trust between CCP and the players and to ensure that when they say something is coming to the game, it is 100% absolutely certain.
