“Improved” chance of heavy weather, thunderstorm in the Houston forecast

Houstonians have to expect heavy weather on Friday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The Storm Prediction Center of NWS gives Houston and various surrounding communities in the north and northeast an “improved” chance of heavy weather, which is the third of five status lists for chances of heavy weather. The air is expected to be free at the beginning of Friday, without a storm, but according to meteorologists the circumstances will deteriorate.

In the afternoon, experts say that Houston is likely to experience strong to severe thunderstorms throughout the area. At nightfall, a line of strong thunderstorms is expected to sweep through the area before midnight.

Some of the biggest threats with the storms are harmful wind and hail, with a possible tornado. Heavy rainfall is also expected.
