Government Will Hold An Exceptional Council Of Ministers On Saturday

The Government will approve next Saturday, June 25, in the extraordinary Council of Ministers, the expansion of the shock plan against the effects of the economic crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

According to the minister spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, at the press conference after the meeting of ministers on Tuesday, the Government is accelerating the extension of the anti-crisis plan that lost force on June 30. In addition, the minister has indicated that the Council of Ministers on Tuesday 28 will be held on Monday 27 in the morning .

The new plan will include the measures approved in March -among them the bonus of 20 cents per liter on fuel- but it will foreseeably come with some modification or new approach.

In the absence of specifying what those changes will be, in recent weeks, different members of the Executive, especially from the Podemos wing, have launched several proposals. One of them aims to introduce an income bias in the gasoline subsidy .

They are also committed to lowering the price of transport passes . Minister Belarra asked to reduce the price of all, urban and interurban, to 10 euros , and yesterday the second vice president and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, opted to reduce them by 50% .

Díaz also opted to give a check for 300 euros to those most affected by the economic crisis “before the rise in prices due to inflation, it is time to protect families and their purchasing power.”
